The clinical environment at Colchester Physiotherapy has been designed with COVID-19 in mind.
Below are the 4 key mechanisms for COVID-19 transmission and how we have addressed them:
Infection via airborne particles from close proximity to COVID positive people
Everyone who enters the clinic (staff and patients) are screened for COVID symptoms before entering. Staff self screen and patients are remotely screened via a phone call on the day of their appointment.
As a secondary screen, anyone entering the clinic undergoes a temperature check.
Infection via environmental airborne particles
The clinic room pumps in air from outside. This guarantees ventilation, preventing stale (and potentially contaminated) air from remaining in the clinic room.
A disinfectant fogging machine is used in between patients to sterilise both the air and the surfaces within the clinic room. The disinfectant machine uses mouthwash (of all things!) which is both effective at killing COVID-19 and perfectly safe for human consumption.
Infection from surface contact
All surfaces are thoroughly cleaned before and after each treatment session.
Hand washing and hand sanitiser facilities are available within the clinic.
Infection from physical contact with people
Social distancing is maintained throughout appointments.
Where social distancing is not possible (i.e. for hands on techniques), full PPE is worn.
Our infection control and COVID-19 procedures are all available for anyone to read (the links are at the bottom of every page).
